Air conditioning is becoming more affordable, energy efficient and not the luxury that it used to be and as a result more and more people are having it installed in their homes. Applications range from a single room to a number or rooms or a ducted system throughout the house.
Having air conditioning installed in the conservatory is becoming extremely popular, turning it into a relaxing extra living space, and allows people to control the temperature all year around, cooling in the summer and heat efficiently during the winter, should there be insufficient heating available. More and more people are having it installed in hot, stuffy or cold damp rooms and especially in their bedrooms, so that there are no more hot sleepless summer nights.
The most popular system for the home is a split system consisting of one outdoor unit which runs extremely quietly and can be mounted down the side of your house or hidden in the garden somewhere convenient, this in turn is connected to an indoor unit via copper pipes which can be run through the loft area or they be can boxed in.
As mentioned above ducted units are also becoming very popular as the indoor unit is hidden in say a loft space and the cool air is transferred to the various rooms via flexible ducting and end in an attractive grill. Again as with the split system this will be connected to an outdoor unit.
